Imagine a celebration that combines Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year that lasts for a week. Fantastic, right? This happens in China. It’s called Chinese New Year or can also be called Lunar New Year! Our school had the privilege to celebrate this festivity on Monday, February 4th.
We had many different activities wrapped up into one celebration performance. From Barong Sai Dance, WuShu and a fashion show to dancing and singing from our talented students. Our songs carefully combined the themes of happiness, wealth and longevity as a common Chinese New Year’s greeting.
2019 is the year of the Earth Pig. A pig represents luck, overall good fortune, wealth, honesty, general prosperity and symbolizes a hardworking, peace-loving person. A truthful, generous, indulgent, patient, reliable, trusting, sincere, giving, sociable person with a large sense of humour and understanding.
