Indonesian Independence Day Celebration
Lollypop Preschool had its Independence Day celebration on August 18, 2017. This is to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day, a day that marks its declaration of Independence from Netherlands.
It was a one week celebration that started with the Wayang Mosaic making for Kindergarten and Preparatory students and the Wayang Coloring Activity for Nursery and Pre-Nursery classes. Wayang is a traditional shadow puppet in Indonesia. The following day, the children were requested to bring Indonesian food for their own snacks and on the third day, they were asked to wear Batik, an Indonesian traditional textile
On the 18th of August, the children were asked to come to school wearing their red and white attire. They were excited to participate in the games that were prepared for them. There were “Balap Kelereng” (Marble Relay), “Balap Karung” (Sack Race) games for Nursery, Kg and Prep students and of course the “Makan Kerupuk” contest (Cracker Eating Contest). The smaller children in Pre-Nursery had the “ Flag Planting “ game.
The children had a lot of fun playing with their friends.
